In 1916 the priest Markos Petrakis abandons Crete, along with his wife Stella and their four children, to offer his services to a colony of numerous Cretan coal-miners in the city Price of Utah (USA).

In 1923 the fifth child of the family, Haralampos is born in St. Louis. The redactor of STIGMES magazine Pavlos Liontas presents the long odyssey in life and literature of Harry Mark Petrakis, nowadays the most important Greek-American writer, and presents some aspects of his work, which is not well-known in Greece. |
