UFOs and mysterious appearances

The island of Crete is considered a charismatic observatory of curious extraterrestrial and unexplained phenomena. Crete is one of the few regions of Greece where a UFO is observed almost every year. But UFOs are not the only extraordinary sights observed in Crete ….

The incident of Alikampos  

The residents of the small village Alikampos (in northern Hania, near the border with the prefecture of Rethimnon ) observed for many days a UFO in the sky

The celestial lights of Rethimno

This incident happened in 1980 in Rethimno and has been observed by numerous residents. Luminous objects made their appearance in the sky and according to witnesses remained in the same point from seven in the afternoon up to midnight. 

UFOs  in Varipetro  

Back in time, the 5th of May 1975 members of the HUFORC , a club specialized in UFO observation, were visiting the village Varipetro , a few kilometers from the city of Chania, and shooting pictures of the village, without realizing that an unknown object had been “caught” in many shots. The pictures have been double-checked and considered genuine.

The strange being of Apokoronas    

On the road to Georgioupolis, a few meters from the national road Chania  – Rethimno, near the village Kalamitsi Amigdalou and the church of Saint Antonios , a curious creature has been carved in rock. Its origin and symbolism have been discussed for several decades now.
