just to help you find out some more about them, what they do, the difficulties they’re faced with, but also the joys they’re given during the process of making this incredible product: the wine.Though Crete has a long history in vineyard cultivation and in wine producing, today’s wine producers are faced with very different facts comparing to their ancestors. The climatological changes, the globalization, the wine quality getting higher in many other countries as well, the smaller prices of the New World’s wines, the increasing demands of tourists coming to the island, the rural exodus, are only some of the problems wine producers have to solve.
However, consumers’ wider knowledge on wines, the open markets and the improvement of varieties, today’s know-how and new scientific data, technological progress and many other factors, help the Cretan wine producers through their beautiful and resourceful annual journey.
