Nikos Zoidakis

A Cretan out of Crete is twice more Cretan  

The name, of Nikos Zoidakis, an artist born and raised in the town of Chania, Crete, is known to friends of Cretan music since 1978 when he started to play the lyre as an amateur. He turned professional in1981 and he recorded his first album “Ts agapis to hamperi = Message of Love) in 1985 with Michalis Tzouganakis and Pantelis Krassanakis. From then he has recorded seven more personal albums and more than twenty in collaboration with other Cretan artists.

His CD “Mia vradia stin Xenitia” (a night in Exile), a live recording from Montreal, Canada, is one of the greatest commercial successes of Cretan Music!
